Download a Tru-tone by The Crystal Method and Win
a Trip
Throughout April, Crystal Method fans will be able to download
a tru-tone of “Intro”, a new song from the band’s latest
album, as part of a pre-album release promotion. All fans that download
the tru-tone will also be automatically registered to win a trip to Seattle
to see them DJ live in concert on May 27th.
The Weather Channel Made-For-Mobile Video Forecast
Local and personalized weather forecasts are now available on mobile videophones.
The high quality weather maps and information are provided by The
Weather Channel. The service is available to Sprint, Cingular/AT&T
and Midwest Wireless subscribers through MobiTV for
a flat fee of $10/month. In addition you receive live TV from over 20
channels.
MasterCard Fighting Fraud
MasterCard is now offering their European customers a way to
prevent credit card fraud. The service, which will be available in North
America at the end of 2005, sends a sms message when a high-risk transaction
is identified. The customer verifies the transaction by sending a text
message.
Create your ”Own Tones”
Frog Mobile developed Own Tones™, a service that
allows you to record your own voice ringtone. The service is available
to Cingular/AT&T and T-Mobile customers. Other carriers
will be added soon.
Starburst Text to Win
Masterfoods launched an integrated US-based mobile marketing
campaign. Consumers can enter to win prizes by texting game codes found
on wrappers to JUICY (58429).
Mobisodes for Paris Hilton
Fox will launch 26 original The Simple Life mobisodes. The one-minute
mobisodes will show never-before-seen footage of Paris Hilton and Nicole
Ritchie’s behind the scene adventures. The service is available
through Verizon Wireless's V CAST service.
Google Local Search
Google now offers local listings, maps, and driving directions on your
mobile. You also have the ability to call the business you are looking
for without having to remember the number. To access the service go to
http://mobile.google.com/local
on your mobile and enter your query.
WB One Tree Hill
The WB Network and Cingular Wireless gave One Tree
Hill viewers the opportunity to decide how an episode will end. Fans
could text in through April 22 to decide if Nathan should kiss his sister-in-law.
Viewers that texted in were also entered in a sweepstakes. The results
were broadcasted on April 26 on the WB Network.
